Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. is establishing two new sales companies for its IM business* to expand sales of its surface mounters in Europe and the USA.
The two companies are Yamaha Motor IM Europe Gmbh. (YIME), to be founded in June with its head office in Neuss, Germany, and Yamaha Motor IM America, Inc. (YIMA) to be founded in August with its head office in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Sales of Yamaha surface mounters in Europe and North America
began in 1988 on an OEM basis with Netherlands-based Philips
EMT (now Assembleon B.V.). After that, Yamaha Motor began
sales and service operations under the Yamaha brand name
in 2009.
The new companies will enable Yamaha Motor to promote the spread of Yamaha brand surface mounters in the European and North American markets and increase market share by strengthening sales capabilities with direct retailing and fuller support to distributors.
Joining Yamaha Motor’s existing IM companies in Japan, China and Southeast Asia, these new sales companies in Europe and North America create a truly global sales and service network that can provide on-site support for clients worldwide.
*IM (Intelligent Machinery) business primarily manufactures and sells industrial robots, surface mounters, and electric wheelchairs.
